The Centrifugal Barrel Finishing Machine is a highly controllable mass finishing machine that offers a consistent and smooth finish to the parts. It is used for deburring, polishing, and surface preparation of all types of metal and other materials.

It is designed to complete finishing cycles 30 times faster than vibratory barrels and 15-25 times faster than rotary barrels, and with a geared drive that runs more quietly. These high energy, low maintenance machines are ideal for a variety of applications from jet engine blades in the aerospace industry to heart valves and medical implants made of titanium.

During operation, each barrel rotates in the same direction as the central turret. This creates a high centrifugal force on the load of media, workpieces and compound inside each barrel.

This force compacts the load into a tight mass, causing the media and workpieces to slide against each other, removing burrs and creating a superior finish. Short cycle times are realized as a result of the high centrifugal energy being applied to the parts.

It is important to use the right media and compounds for the best results. The tumbling media scrubs against the parts for polishing and deburring, while compounds can be dry or wet to enhance the process.
